Official Translation of Birth Certificates

We provide four types of official birth certificate translation—certified, notarized, apostilled, and sworn. No matter which option you choose, your birth certificate will be accurately translated and accepted by government agencies worldwide.

USCIS-Certified Translation of Birth Certificates

When you apply for immigration, your birth certificate is one of the most important documents. It verifies your identity, date of birth, and family relationships. If the birth certificate is not in English, USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) requires you to provide a certified English translation along with the original.

A certified translation must include a signed statement from the translator confirming that the translation is complete and accurate. The certification must also show the translator’s name, signature, and contact information. USCIS does not accept self‑translations, even if you are fluent in English.

Good to know: Our certified translations are accepted not only by USCIS but also by U.S. passport agencies, courts, and universities nationwide.

Birth Certificate Translation for Visa and Immigration

If your birth certificate is not in English, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will require you to submit a certified translation with your visa or immigration application. A certified translation is typically needed in cases such as:

  • Green card petitions – to establish identity and family relationships
  • Naturalization applications – to verify birth details for citizenship
  • Family-based immigration – to confirm parent-child or spousal ties
  • Visa applications – including student, work, or dependent categories

Birth Certificate Translation Requirements for USCIS

USCIS requires that any birth certificate in a foreign language be submitted with a certified English translation. The translator must certify that the translation is accurate and that they are qualified to translate from the original language into English. Translations prepared by family members are not accepted.

When you submit your application, you will need to provide a copy of your birth certificate along with the certified English translation. The copy does not need to be a certified copy from the issuing authority. Originals are generally not required, though you may be asked to present them at an interview or in response to a Request for Evidence. If originals are provided, USCIS will return them after review.
